The cellular and molecular aspects of intracellular pathogen replication. The laboratory has used a genetic approach to define cellular genes that participate intracellular pathogen replication and pathogenesis. In addition, collaboration with laboratories that study toxin effects is using a similar strategy to define the necessary cellular components for intoxication due to common toxins that cause human and animal disease.
