Other foci of his scholarship have related to: the evolution of our medical literature towards electronic publications, “problem residents”, ethical issues associated with managed care, optimal physician behaviors, research during residency training, hospital-based medicine, grand rounds, malpractice, the promotion of clinician-educators, and faculty development. Dr. Wright has been the recipient of the Society of General Internal Medicine's (SGIM) National Award for Innovations in Medical Education. Dr. Wright is a Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), and he is the Deputy Director for Medical Education Research at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC). He will also serve as the first Director of JHBMC’s Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence to be launched in May 2009. For his mentoring of others, he has won the “L. Randol Barker GIM Fellows Appreciation Award”, “C. Lockard Conley Award from the American College of Physicians”, and “SGIM’s National Long Distance Mentoring Award”.
