more clinical trials when appropriate. The major focus of his laboratory is to develop novel therapeutic targets for sleep apnea with a view towards addressing a major public health need. The laboratory attempts to define causal pathways underlying sleep apnea in a given individual such that individualized therapy can be provided in a targeted manner. Ultimately, a personalized medicine approach to sleep apnea could be undertaken such that simple interventions could be provided to afflicted patients with a view towards improving well being and outcome of the patient.
