Dr. Kottgen received an MD from Albert Ludwigs University in 2001 and an MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2006. She works on genetic and non-genetic risk factors for kidney disease and related conditions, as well as on kidney disease as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Genetic projects include both candidate gene and genome-wide association approaches. I am currently participating in several large consortia of cohort studies with genome-wide association data.
