I am an Associate Professor of Oncology and Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where my work focuses on advancing immune-based therapies for pediatric and AYA solid tumors. As an attending physician at Johns Hopkins Hospital, I have spearheaded the integration of immunotherapy, metabolic reprogramming, and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation into treatment strategies for high-risk sarcomas.
My research centers on the immune microenvironment of sarcomas, with a focus on tumor-infiltrating myeloid cells and immune evasion mechanisms. My investigations have led to biomarker discoveries and new therapeutic approaches, directly informing clinical trial design. To date, I have authored 43 peer-reviewed publications, with work featured in high-impact journals such as Cancer Discovery, Clinical Cancer Research, and Journal for Immunotherapy of Cancer. My research has been continuously funded by the DoD, NIH, and private foundations, supporting the development of novel immunotherapeutic strategies.
Beyond my research, I serve as a principal investigator on clinical trials evaluating checkpoint inhibitors and immune-modulating therapies for sarcomas. I contribute to national research initiatives, including the COG Soft Tissue Sarcoma Committee and the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) Solid Tumor Initiative. As a dedicated mentor, I have trained physician-scientists who are advancing the field of cancer immunology.
With a commitment to translating immunologic discoveries into clinical impact, I am honored to be nominated for active membership in the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
