Dr. Prins's research program focuses on defining and combatting the molecular mechanism underlying pulmonary arterial hypertension and right ventricular failure by integrating multi-omic data from preclinical and human samples. The laboratory particular focuses on microtubules, inflammation, and disrupted metabolism and how that may be targeted therapeutically. In addition, Dr. Prins's laboratory is working to understand end-organ dysfunction in right heart failure and how that may be both targeted for treatment and why organ cross-talk may contribute to physiological deficits in these diseased states.
