Dr. Addison is a multiple R01-funded physician-scientist, tenured Associate Professor, clinical-translational researcher, and practicing cardiologist with unique expertise in cardio-oncology and cardiovascular imaging. He joined the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW), following 8 years on faculty at the Ohio State University, and prior advanced training at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard, where he focused on cardio-oncology and advanced imaging. He has published over 145 peer-reviewed scientific articles in journals such as CirculationJAMA: OncologyJACCBlood, and other high-impact journals; and serves as PI or MPI for multiple NIH, AHA, and CPRIT grants and large trials.

Dr. Addison's research focuses on defining the drivers and consequences of cardiovascular disease in patients requiring cancer treatment, with the goal of identifying novel prevention strategies. His multiple R01-funded research program uses advanced cardiac imaging (echo, CT, MRI, nuclear) and molecular approaches to identify novel pathways and strategies for the prevention of cardiac disease among cancer patients.

At UTSW, Dr. Addison serves as the Director of Translational Research in the Cardiology Division, and Associate Director for Survivorship and Outcomes Research in the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also holds the Audre and Bernard Rapport Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Research.
