Dr. Cattamanchi is pulmonary and critical care medicine physician-scientist with formal training in epidemiology and implementation science. His primary research interests are in improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB) in high-burden settings. His current research focuses on: 1) Identifying novel biomarkers for TB screening and diagnosis; 2) Evaluating the accuracy, acceptability and cost-effectiveness of novel TB diagnostics to support guideline development; 3) Developing and testing theory-informed strategies to increase uptake of evidence-based interventions for TB care. To address these themes, Dr. Cattamanchi leads multi-disciplinary research collaborations across 7 countries in Africa (Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia), South Asia (India) and Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Philippines).
