Mohammed K. Ali MD, MSc, MBA is the William H. Foege Distinguished Professor, Co-Director of the Emory Global Diabetes Research Center, and a practicing primary care physician at Emory University.
Dr. Ali has been at the forefront of national and global efforts to study and combat diabetes. He has led epidemiological studies, clinical trials of diabetes prevention and management, as well as implementation, pragmatic, and scale-up studies. His research spans the US, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, and Tanzania.
He has served as an advisor and on expert committees for the World Health Organization, World Bank, American Diabetes Association, International Diabetes Federation, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, has served on editorial boards for two leading diabetes journals, and is a decorated mentor.
