Evan Brittain, MD, MSc. is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt where he holds the Rose Marie Robertson Endowed Directorship in Cardiology. He is an alumnus of Cornell Medical College and trained in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Clinical Investigation at Vanderbilt in the Physician Scientist Training Program. In 2013 he joined the faculty at Vanderbilt where he is Director of the Pulmonary Circulation Center, leading a research team that has made important contributions to our understanding of the mechanisms and epidemiology of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure. Dr. Brittain serves as the Director of the Physician Scientist Training Program in the Department of Medicine and Assistant Dean for Physician-Researcher Training and Director of the Office for Medical Student Research in Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He has authored over 200 publications and received funding from the NIH, FDA, American Heart Association, and various foundations. He treats patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and directs the inpatient cardiology consult service at Vanderbilt.
