I have a long-standing research interest in hematological malignancies, in particular acute myelogenous leukemia. I have recently stepped down from the Directorship of the Stanford Cancer Institute. Prior to coming to Stanford in 2005, I was Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Associate Director of the Lineberger Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 1994-2005.
