Dr. Fan received his MD from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1999 and completed his PhD in Pathology at Case Western Reserve University in 2009. Following postdoctoral training in vascular biology at the Cleveland Clinic, he joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and has since risen to the rank of tenured Professor. Dr. Fan's research focuses on elucidating the regulatory mechanisms of tissue vascularity and immunity during disease progression, with the ultimate goal of pioneering novel therapies to reprogram the tissue microenvironment for the treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
