Dr. Wilson is a Professor of Neurology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) where he holds the Debbie and Andy Rachleff Distinguished Endowed Chair and is the founding Director of the UCSF Center for Encephalitis and Meningitis. He graduated received his medical degree from UCSF School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine internship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and his Neurology residency at the Harvard Neurology Residency Program at MGH and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He pursued a clinical and research fellowship in neuro-infectious diseases and neurovirology at MGH and Boston University's National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (PI: W.P. Duprex) and continued his postdoctoral fellowship in the UCSF Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (PI: Joseph DeRisi). He also earned a master's degree in clinical research methods at UCSF. His lab's research primarily focuses on the development and application of high throughout genomic and proteomic technologies to discover new diagnostic biomarkers for neuroinflammatory disorders.
