Dr. Eleni Linos, MD, MPH, DrPH is Professor of Dermatology, Medicine and Epidemiology at Stanford University. She directs the Stanford Center for Digital Health and serves as Associate Dean for Research, leading the K12 CTSA Career development training program.
A physician-scientist dually trained in both epidemiology and dermatology, Dr. Linos earned her medical degrees at Cambridge and Oxford, followed by an MPH and DrPH from Harvard School of Public Health, and completed her residency in Dermatology at Stanford. Her multidisciplinary training underpins a research portfolio that spans digital health, skin cancer prevention, public health, and optimizing care for older adults.
Among her notable achievements, Dr. Linos’s work on indoor tanning and melanoma prevention informed national policy and regulations, while her innovative use of social media helped translate scientific evidence into public health action. She has also pioneered research on aging and skin disease, championing patient-centered care strategies in geriatric dermatology to reduce unnecessary overtreatment among older populations.
As a leader in digital health, Dr. Linos’s work has influenced consumer technology and shaped research methods through large-scale, remote clinical research.
Dr. Linos is also a dedicated mentor, fostering the next generation of physician‑scientists through her leadership in institutional training programs and collaborative initiatives.
